HORSE RIDING

For Experienced Riders Only
Our rides are best suited to intermediate, experienced riders. You'll want to be comfortable handling a horse in a walk, trot or canter and happy in the saddle for extended periods (rides typically run 4–6 hours).
We'll break for lunch each day, taking around an hour out of the saddle to rest and refuel before getting back on. These are genuine farm adventures rather than lessons or beginner rides, so a solid riding background will help you and the rest of the group get the most out of the experience.
BRINGING YOUR OWN HORSE
Experienced riders are welcome to bring their own horse, subject to prior approval. Horses must be fit,
sound, well-mannered and comfortable riding safely in a group with unfamiliar horses.
They must also be manageable around cattle, farm activity and varied open country. Final approval remains at Brooke’s discretion to protect the safety and enjoyment of all riders, horses and staff.

What Makes Our
Rides Different
At Brooklyn Springs, riding is part of everyday life. It is how we move across the property, work with the land and spend our time.
These are not your typical trail rides. There are no set tracks, no groups following each other, and no rushing to finish. You will spend real time in the saddle, riding through open paddocks, native bush, and along ridgelines across the property. Each ride is shaped by the day, the conditions and your pace.
You might ride alongside cattle, head out through the hills, or stop for lunch under a gum tree while your horse grazes nearby. It is a chance to slow down, take it in and enjoy being out on the land.
Our horses are reliable, experienced and well suited to the terrain. We take care to match each rider with the right horse based on experience and confidence. These are working horses that know the property and are used to covering this kind of ground.
This experience is best suited to confident, capable riders who are comfortable spending extended time in the saddle and want something a bit more genuine than a standard ride.
